Translation is one input to that decision; it does not approve the campaign for launch.

What the beta documents

The Search beta lists English (US) sources and ten target languages, including French (Canada). Eligibility requires active or paused originals within entity-size limits and supported-language assets and keywords; election-verified customers are excluded. Optional global instructions precede a separate campaign; the source is unchanged. It translates text and keywords, removes text overlays from images and adds translated messaging as supplemental text assets, and shows original, translation, back-translation and notes. Landing-page options are a snippet or URL/domain updates, followed by an unclear warning against URL changes. Setup asks for a new budget; the overview says bids and budgets copy exactly without currency conversion, so verify final values. The default publication option is Paused. A September 2026 note announces PMax localization support; confirm account access. No full eligible-market list is provided. Google Ads Help.

Confirm the localization option and target locations are available for your account.

Keep feature access separate from Google’s language-matching change. Google says that from September 2026, campaign-level language targeting is removed for Search; in Performance Max it stops applying on Search inventory but remains for YouTube, Display, Discover and Gmail. Shopping ads are stated to be unaffected. Verify account behavior if it matters to launch. DMT’s Google Ads language-targeting guide covers the related setting change.

Language does not select geography. Google says the default location option can include people who have shown interest in an area as well as people physically or regularly there; Presence can narrow that criterion. Choose locations the business serves and inspect this setting. Google Ads Help explains the location options.

Market brief and approval matrix

These are suggested advertiser controls and reviewer decisions. Mention 20% off the first year only for new Quebec customers through 30 November 2026; state that renewal uses the standard price. Use clear, courteous Canadian French. Match prices, eligibility and the call to action to the approved page, and do not imply availability outside Quebec.

A public r/googleads thread illustrates why a target-language reviewer matters: one advertiser described Search headlines that became awkward under character limits, and commenters suggested review by a speaker or translator. This is one self-reported discussion, not a test of the localization tool. Read the practitioner thread.

French-Canada worked example

Consider a fictional business that serves Quebec and has an English (US) campaign with a $50 daily cap. Its account owner approves a $25-per-day French-Canada test in the same account currency, and a qualified reviewer approves the example brief above. The $25 cap is this business’s illustrative limit, not a suggested budget.

The site team maps
https://example.com/en-ca/pricing/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=canada_en
to
https://example.com/fr-ca/pricing/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=canada_fr
. This is an illustrative URL plan, not an address produced or tested in Google Ads. The team verifies that the French path resolves, and that the campaign parameters still describe the intended source and market.

Hold if the checkout still presents an English offer, applies terms the business has not approved for Quebec, or shows a price or currency that conflicts with the approved page. Also hold if the final campaign does not show the approved $25 limit. Proceed only when the market, copy, destination and spend evidence pass and each named approver signs off.

For broader AI Max, Performance Max and Smart Bidding context, see DMT’s AI for Google Ads guide.

About the author: Tayeeb Khan is the founder of DMarketer Tayeeb and covers digital marketing, SEO and AI.

[233
234
post-3219","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-google-ads","tag-ai-for-google-ads","has-featured-image
["GET
