Salesforce says it brings its data, workflows, business logic, identity, permissions and governance into the places where people and agents already work. The launch names Claudeforce, Slackforce and Agentforce Coworker as ready-to-use experiences, while the Headless Toolkit supplies MCP servers, APIs, plug-ins, skills and developer tools for custom experiences.

That makes AIforce a buyer and access question rather than a model-selection question. The announcement does not publish one AIforce model ID or a standalone price. It says availability can vary by region and customer agreement. The practical way to evaluate it is to identify the exact interface, org configuration, license, data path and action authority your team will use, then test a read-only workflow before allowing writes.

This guide separates Salesforce’s umbrella language from the concrete interfaces and developer surfaces underneath it. It also keeps vendor promises—such as zero data retention and “day one” access—separate from the controls an administrator must verify in a real org.

What AIforce is—and what it is not

Salesforce’s AIforce announcement describes AIforce as a “live interface layer” that lets people and agents use Salesforce from Claude, Slack, Lightning and other surfaces. The current AIforce product page uses the same framing: AIforce dynamically brings together the Salesforce data, apps, workflows and business context already in an organization.

Term

Documented meaning

Do not assume

AIforce

The live interface layer and umbrella experience that carries Salesforce context and actions into other interfaces.

A single foundation model, downloadable weights, public anonymous chatbot or universal license.

Headless Toolkit

The underlying architecture using Salesforce MCPs, APIs, plug-ins, skills and developer tools.

A separate model provider or a promise that every capability is enabled in every org.

Headless 360 MCP Server

A specific Salesforce-hosted MCP server, currently documented as a Beta service, with four tool types and org authentication requirements.

Another name for all of AIforce or a no-setup public endpoint.

Claudeforce

The Salesforce–Anthropic partnership; Salesforce in Claude is the initial seller-focused experience.

Proof that every Claude account or Salesforce org has the same access state.

Slackforce

Salesforce context and live interactive Surfaces in Slack, with Slackbot, Slack CRM and Slack Code described in the launch material.

A new Slack plan, price or feature entitlement that has been published for all customers.

Agentforce Coworker

An AI teammate that runs in Salesforce’s Lightning experience and can call specialized Agentforce agents.

A guarantee that every user, object and action is available without license or permission review.

Salesforce’s regional Newsroom story is dated September 15, 2026, while its Singapore press-release page is dated September 16. Both describe the Dreamforce launch and were current when checked on September 16. That date difference does not change the access rule: use the current org and customer agreement, not a launch headline, as the availability source.

Which interfaces launch with AIforce?

The launch is a collection of surfaces with different maturity and setup paths. The status column below preserves Salesforce’s own wording where the pages disagree or remain conditional.

Surface

What Salesforce documents

Safe access interpretation

Salesforce in Claude / Claudeforce

A prebuilt Salesforce MCP server and 37 sales skills covering work such as prospecting and pipeline hygiene. The launch release says it is available to all customers in beta.

The dedicated Claudeforce page simultaneously says selected pilot customers are live and open beta is planned for September 2026. Treat it as pilot/beta until the exact Salesforce and Claude accounts show access.

Slackforce

Slackforce Surfaces can present live Salesforce, Slack and other-tool context in interactive views. The launch also describes Slackbot, Slack CRM and Slack Code workflows.

Salesforce names it as launching with AIforce, but the cited launch material does not give a universal price, region matrix or org-by-org entitlement.

Agentforce Coworker

The launch and product page describe an AI teammate that reasons across accounts, activity and history, surfaces insights and takes action within Salesforce permissions and business rules.

Salesforce says customers can activate it, but the actual org still needs the applicable product, license, permissions and data configuration. A seller asking Claude for a pipeline review, a team exploring a Slack Surface and an admin activating Coworker may touch the same Salesforce foundation but have different contracts, clients, permissions and measured outcomes.

AIforce access in practice: the four checks

For a custom or developer-led path, Salesforce’s Headless 360 MCP reference is the most concrete access document available. It identifies a production server URL and a sandbox/scratch URL, but the server is a Beta service and requires org-side setup.

Confirm the org and API version. The Headless 360 reference lists API version v67.0 and later. Check the actual org, edition, release and feature availability before designing around it.

Activate the service. In Salesforce Setup, find MCP Servers and activate
headless-360
if it is available to the org. Activation is not the same as granting every action.

Create the authenticated client. Salesforce documents an External Client App configured with the
mcp_api
scope and an MCP client configured with OAuth. A custom client should keep credentials server-side and use the minimum scope the workflow needs.

Test with the right tool order. The server exposes Discover, Describe, Dispatch and Dispatch (Read-Only). Start with discovery and description, then use read-only dispatch against a sandbox or Developer org before permitting a write dispatch.

Salesforce’s Try Headless 360 quick start describes a Developer Edition org, Salesforce Hosted MCP activation, an External Client App, OAuth and a Claude connector that reads records through an MCP server. That is a source-checked setup path, not a completed test in this article. No credentials or live org were used here.

There is a small tension between the product promise and the technical path. Salesforce markets AIforce experiences as requiring no migration or custom integration work, while the custom Headless 360 reference requires activation, an app, an OAuth client and permissions. Read the promise as applying to a supported ready-made experience after an admin connects it; read the developer reference as the setup contract for a custom or hosted-MCP path.

What the four Headless 360 tools actually control

Tool

Purpose

Control to require

discover

Finds candidate Salesforce operations from the agent’s interpretation of a request.

Review the returned operation instead of allowing a model to choose a write action blindly.

describe

Returns an operation’s APIs, parameters, dependencies and ordered steps.

Check fields, dependencies, side effects and input validation before dispatch.

dispatch_readonly

Runs an operation in read-only mode and does not change data or configuration.

Use it first for data mapping, stale-record checks and pilot evidence.

dispatch

Invokes the selected operation through the access guard.

Require explicit human approval for record changes, user administration, named credentials, deployments or other irreversible actions.

Salesforce says each Hosted MCP transaction runs as the authenticated user. Object permissions, field-level security, sharing rules, profile permissions and permission sets apply, and the audit trail attributes the action to that user. This is a strong boundary, but it is not a substitute for least privilege: an agent inheriting an overpowered user can still be overpowered.

Salesforce specifically recommends client-level tool restrictions and approval before a tool changes org configuration or alters or deletes data. Use a sandbox or Developer org for configuration changes first. Keep the user’s intent, the selected operation, the fields changed, the approval and the final result in an audit record that a reviewer can understand.

AIforce, Agentforce and the trust boundary

AIforce sits above Salesforce’s existing Data 360, Customer 360 and Agentforce layers. The launch says every request runs through existing permissions and business rules, every agent sees only what the requesting person can see, and actions route back through Salesforce. The product page similarly presents identity, permissions, trust and governance as capabilities carried into each interface.

Salesforce also describes AIforce as having Zero Data Retention: business data is used to answer the question and is not retained by the model provider. Treat that as Salesforce’s contractual/product assurance about the external model-provider boundary, not as “nothing is ever stored anywhere.” The Trust and Agentforce reference says prompts and responses are not stored or used for training by third-party LLMs, while audit and feedback data can be logged in Data 360 and other Salesforce features can store data.

The same Trust reference says data masking through the Einstein Trust Layer is disabled for agents. That makes data minimization an application responsibility: pass only the fields required for the task, enforce sharing and field-level security, and do not assume that a generic “trust layer” makes a broad record dump safe.

For MCP specifically, Salesforce documents that the same Agentforce security and compliance controls apply, including the Trust Layer and zero-data-retention policy. A team should still document which third-party MCP servers, plug-ins or AI interfaces sit outside Salesforce and apply zero-trust review to those connections.

Pricing and licensing: what is actually published?

There is no AIforce price card in the AIforce announcement or product page. Salesforce says pricing and packaging are subject to change, availability may vary by region, and customer agreements govern the final commercial terms. The current Agentforce pricing page is useful adjacent context, but it does not say that every AIforce or Headless Toolkit capability is included at the listed price.

Published adjacent item

Current page shows

Buyer warning

Salesforce Foundations

$0 and includes Agentforce Builder, Prompt Builder, Agent Script, Agentforce Coworker and Agentforce Vibes.

This is the Agentforce pricing page’s bundle; it is not a standalone AIforce contract or proof that every interface is enabled.

Flex Credits

$500 per 100,000 credits on the US page; the page describes action-based consumption and Digital Wallet monitoring.

Do not apply this rate to AIforce without the exact order form, usage type, action multiplier and required products.

Conversations

$2 per conversation on the US page.

The page says this is a customer-facing Agentforce consumption option; it does not price all AIforce surfaces.

Agentforce add-ons

$125 per user/month for listed Sales, Service, Field Service and Operations add-ons; $150 for Industries add-ons.

These are named Agentforce add-ons and may have edition, contract and region conditions.

Agentforce 1 Editions and User License

From $550 per user/month for listed Agentforce 1 Editions; $5 per user/month for the Agentforce User License, which requires Flex Credits.

These are not a published AIforce price. Match the exact SKU, included credits, limits and unmetered scope to the quote.

The Agentforce FAQ says customers should contact their Account Executive for current contract status and pricing, and that Data 360 must be enabled to view credit consumption in Digital Wallet. For a buyer, the quote should name the exact interface—Salesforce in Claude, Slackforce, Coworker or custom Headless—plus the org, users, region, billing unit, included usage, overage treatment, data services and support/SLA.

Do not use the pricing figures above to estimate ROI. They are dated public list-price inputs for related Agentforce offerings, not a complete AIforce commercial model. The Salesforce edition and buying checklist covers edition arithmetic and quote reconciliation as a separate reader job.

Beta, rollout and region boundaries

Several current Salesforce pages use different status labels:

The Headless 360 MCP reference calls the server a Beta service available starting in July 2026, with Beta Services Terms.

The Salesforce release says Salesforce in Claude is available to all customers in beta, while the dedicated Claudeforce page says selected pilot customers are live and open beta is planned for September 2026.

The launch and Coworker product page say Agentforce Coworker is available or can be activated, but the exact edition, permissions and account conditions remain org-specific.

Slackforce is described as launching with AIforce, but the announcement does not supply a universal region, price or entitlement matrix.

The AIforce announcement explicitly says availability may vary by region and is governed by customer agreements.

These are not minor footnotes. A team in India, the United States or another market should not infer eligibility from the fact that a Salesforce page is visible in its browser. Record the org ID, release, region, license, interface, beta/GA label, terms and activation evidence before calling a feature “available.”

What AIforce changes for marketing and revenue teams

AIforce can move CRM context and actions into the tools where sales, service and marketing teams already work. A campaign owner could ask for an approved audience definition, a seller could review at-risk accounts in Claude, and a service team could create a follow-up task from Slack. Those are workflow possibilities supported by Salesforce’s interface descriptions; they are not proof of better conversion rates, productivity or revenue.

Keep three jobs separate:

Job

Useful first test

Stop condition

Read and summarize

Retrieve a small set of approved records and compare the response with a human-checked report.

Stop when the agent cites stale, contradictory or unauthorized fields.

Prepare a marketing or sales artifact

Draft a campaign brief, account plan or follow-up using approved fields, with a human editor as owner.

Do not publish or send from the draft until claims, audience, consent and budget are reviewed.

Change the system

Test one reversible update in a sandbox with explicit approval and a rollback record.

Block bulk writes, permission changes, external messages or financial actions until the action contract is proven.

Salesforce’s AIforce announcement is not a new marketing-automation feature catalogue. The more defensible buyer insight is that the interface can become a distribution layer for existing CRM data and workflows. That makes data quality, field ownership, consent, approval and measurement more important, not less. The existing Trusted Enterprise AI Harness analysis covers the broader Salesforce architecture and control-plane context; this page focuses on the named AIforce surfaces and their access boundary.

For customer-agent scope, keep Salesforce’s Fin acquisition and its channels separate from AIforce’s interface layer. The Salesforce Fin customer-agent coverage owns that product and acquisition question; AIforce does not automatically replace or merge Fin, Agentforce or every service channel.

A safe AIforce pilot sequence

Choose one reversible reader job. Start with a read-only account summary, campaign-brief retrieval or case triage question, not “automate the CRM.”

Write the data contract. Name the objects, fields, knowledge sources, freshness rule, region and user identity the interface may access.

Write the action contract. List allowed reads, writes, messages and workflows. Add an approval owner and a rollback for every mutation.

Verify the surface. Record whether the pilot uses Salesforce in Claude, Slackforce, Coworker or a custom Headless MCP path. Capture the exact beta/GA, license and terms.

Start read-only. Use discovery, description and read-only dispatch for a small synthetic or approved dataset. Compare responses with a known report and record stale or missing context.

Add one controlled action. Allow a single reversible field update or draft task in a sandbox. Require approval, idempotency and a log of the before/after state.

Measure outcomes and controls separately. Track task completion, factual error, escalation, latency, human rework, unauthorized attempts, policy denials, audit completeness and the business outcome that motivated the pilot.

Review commercial and data boundaries. Compare actual consumption with the quote, check Digital Wallet, read the applicable data-processing terms, and verify whether any third-party interface stores or logs activity.

This sequence is an evaluation recommendation, not a Salesforce product requirement. It protects the buyer from mistaking a smooth demo for an approved production workflow.

Verified facts versus claims still needing proof

Question

Current evidence

What remains unknown

Is AIforce real and current?

Yes. They are connected parts of Salesforce’s Agentic Enterprise architecture, not interchangeable names.

Is AIforce just a rename of Headless 360?

Do not state that as a fact. Salesforce’s current pages describe AIforce as the live interface layer and the Headless Toolkit as the underlying architecture. Separately, Salesforce documents a Headless 360 MCP Server as a specific Beta service. Community discussion is confused about the names, but the official distinction is the safer source of truth.

Can any AI app call Salesforce through AIforce?

The architecture is designed to expose Salesforce capabilities through MCPs, APIs, plug-ins and skills, but access is authenticated and permissioned. A custom Headless 360 path requires org activation, an External Client App with the
mcp_api
scope and OAuth. It is not an anonymous public endpoint.

Is Salesforce in Claude generally available?

The launch release says it is available to all customers in beta, while the dedicated Claudeforce page says selected pilot customers are live and open beta is planned for September 2026. Because those official pages conflict, treat access as beta/pilot and verify the exact Salesforce and Claude accounts before purchase or rollout.

Does zero data retention mean Salesforce stores nothing?

No. The claim concerns retention by the model provider in the documented Trust Layer path. Salesforce’s own audit, feedback, Data 360, CRM and connected-system retention rules can still apply. Confirm the data path and retention schedule for the specific interface and contract.

Will AIforce improve marketing ROI?

There is no independent ROI evidence in the launch sources. AIforce may reduce interface friction or make governed actions available in more places, but your team must measure factual quality, approval time, rework, qualified outcomes and cost against a defined baseline.

Bottom line

AIforce is Salesforce’s interface and distribution layer for bringing CRM context, workflows, business logic and governed actions into Claude, Slack, Lightning and custom AI experiences. The concrete developer path is the Headless Toolkit, with Headless 360 providing a documented but Beta hosted MCP server. The main buyer decision is therefore not which AIforce model to buy; it is which interface and org configuration your team can legitimately use.

Before committing, verify the exact surface, license, region, beta/GA status, OAuth/client setup, permissions, data retention, usage meter, support terms and approval controls. Start read-only, then add one reversible action with a human owner.
